The Death of A Clock
June 9th, 2010 § 5 Comments
The clock has turned blue
Be choked by the dolls
The clock was a joke
The dolls like to pick on
I love watching it suffocates
And I’m all geared up for a funeral
Me and my plastic boys
Will carry the clock in a round paper coffin
We will sing every line of any obituary
Then we’ll go back to this bed
Without the clock
The clock has turned blue
I can see myself licking a lollipop
On some lunch break at work

Somewhat of a surrealistic look at the ‘joys’ of punching a clock…rather clever.
Rather clever? Wow… Thank you.
Awesome lines about killing time. I do agree it is clever, but I think the images in the poem (dolls, funeral, coffin, etc…) enhance the social commentary. Write on! Thanks
…if only. nice work.
Thank you..!
I was just playing with an idea about how the clock alone has made our lives, the society, and the world become so complex (rather complicated in a few cases)… And I came up with those lines. So, yes, it’s sort of a social commentary.
